About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Process Design Specialist to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to utilize their expertise in process design and engineering to drive projects forward.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing process design documents and deliverables for all phases of projects, including conceptual designs, basis of design, and detailed design. They will also use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare process design documents and deliverables for all phases of projects.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Modify reports, specifications, drawings, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs as directed by the Lead Engineer.
  • Makes calculations using engineering formulas and skills for process design.
  • Create specialized drawings such as PFDs, MFDs, UDDs, and P&IDs.
  • Select equipment based on recommendations of Lead Process Engineer and generate equipment lists and schedules.
  • Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate into drawings by drafters.
  • Research design options and document findings for Lead Process Engineer.
  • Keep Lead Engineer informed of work load and any changes in project scope or additional services.
  • Design in accordance with cGMP process guidelines for pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Organize and maintain project files.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Experience in a variety of pharmaceutical projects including API, OSD, and Aseptic Fill / Finishing a plus.
  • Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting.
