Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Utility Locator to join our team at Dayjob Recruitment. As a Utility Locator, you will be responsible for identifying underground utilities and labelling them according to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize Ground Penetrating Radar and Electromagnetic Induction devices to locate underground utilities.
- Interpret utility blueprints, schematics, and aerial photos to aid in recognizing underground infrastructure.
- Generate and submit reports on underground utilities upon concluding each task.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Mark and document utility locations accurately to assist construction crews and prevent damage.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Previous experience with utility locating.
- Proficient in using utility locating equipment and tools such as GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), electromagnetic locator, and utility mapping software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with local utility codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
- Full Australian Working Rights.
- Ability to pass regular alcohol and drug screening tests.
