Hydropower Dam Safety Specialist

This is a senior role where the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing dam safety assessments and inspections, as well as providing expert advice on the design, construction, and operation of hydropower facilities.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive dam safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver safe and reliable hydropower infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on dam safety-related matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in dam safety and hydropower engineering.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in dam safety and hydropower engineering, including experience in FERC Part 12 Dam Safety Program and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Office, Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
