About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Minerals team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and producing design outputs that meet project requirements.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and experience in mineral processing or related industries. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical aspects of project design and ensure timely reviews of project mechanical drawings.
  • Approve and guide engineering designs, including calculations and design development.
  • Develop technical documentation, such as scopes of work and specifications, using industry standards and guidelines.
  • Liaise with drafting teams to prepare drawing deliverables and approve accurate engineering lists.
  • Maximise productivity and efficiency by planning, scheduling, and allocating resources.
  • Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development through mentoring and identifying areas for growth.
  • Develop and contribute to improvement initiatives supporting business priorities for continuous improvement.

Your Expertise

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years of post-graduate experience in mineral processing or related industries.
  • CP Eng and RPEQ qualifications (preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service to clients within budget and time constraints.

Compensation Package

Based on industry standards and your extensive experience, we expect to offer a salary range of $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with your qualifications and background.
