Waste Management Professional

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Sustainable Waste Management team as a Principal Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a passion for waste and resource recovery, and wants to make a real impact in the field.

The successful candidate will work closely with our senior team to deliver high-quality environmental outcomes, practical waste management solutions, and advisory services to our clients.

This role involves leading the provision of technical inputs to waste management and resource recovery strategies, conducting data analysis, reviewing complex datasets, and providing specialist input to due diligence assessments.

You will have an entrepreneurial mindset, be able to think creatively, and have excellent communication skills.

1. Lead the provision of technical inputs to waste management and resource recovery strategy for private industry and local, state, and country governments.
2. Provide specialist technical input to due diligence assessments in the fields of environmental, market, feedstock, and technology due diligence.
3. Conduct data analysis and review complex datasets.
4. Provide specialist input to feasibility studies, business case development, and strategic waste and recycling infrastructure planning across the private and government sectors.
5. Deliver waste management plans and associated documentation for developments.
6. Produce high-quality documents that support the planning and approvals process.
7. Prepare high-quality documents associated with waste facility master planning.
8. Project manage small to medium projects to produce high-quality strategy, market assessment, technology, and other advisory documentation.
9. Prepare quality reports for internal and external clients on time and within set budget.
10. Provide advice and assistance to internal and external clients, team members, and Project Managers on projects regarding best principles and practices.
11. Contribute to winning work by developing proposals, identifying and converting opportunities, and drawing on your client relationships.
12. Perform administrative and financial management tasks including budget preparation and providing accurate and timely responses to requests as required by project demands and timelines.

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science or a related field.
• 12-15+ years' practical experience in the field of Waste and Resource Recovery/Recycling management with significant demonstrated skills in the areas of waste data analysis, strategy, due diligence, market assessments, report writing, and environmental assessments.
• Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines with particular weight put on knowledge in Queensland.
• Strong capabilities in waste advisory.
• Strong diligence in project delivery and attention to detail.
