About the Role

We're seeking a Portfolio Specialist to join our Investments Products and Services team. Our investment team comprises professionals with expertise in macroeconomic research, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment selection. As a member of IPS, your role is to support portfolio management and effectively communicate recommendations to advisers and clients.

You'll contribute to creating model and discretionary portfolios that meet client needs, working with the team to develop and maintain these assets. Your responsibilities include delivering comprehensive reporting, performance analysis, and data analytics. You'll collaborate with the portfolio manager and broader IPS team to maintain quantitative and qualitative analysis supporting portfolio decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the investment process by providing input into product lists, managing multi-asset strategies, and assisting with daily portfolio tasks.
  • Offer analytical and qualitative support for portfolio design and new model development.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with data analysis, investment reporting, or consulting within asset management, research firms, dealer groups, or funds management is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong quantitative research skills, including data analysis and asset allocation analysis.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth understanding of investment markets, asset classes, and portfolio construction.
  • Effective communication skills for building relationships with clients and providing clear actionable insights.
  • A collaborative approach to working independently and within team settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated passion for finance, investment, and continued professional development.
Your Education:
  • A relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., BComm, BBus, BA, BEc, BSc, BApSci).
  • Preferred but not essential: Honours Year or additional postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Management, Commerce, Financial Planning, or similar fields.
  • Certification such as CIMA or CFA.
  • MBA in Economics, Applied Finance, or related disciplines.
