Voting Rights Ambassador

We are currently seeking volunteers for the Western Australian Electoral Commission to assist with the upcoming State Elections. The roles include:

• Issuing Officer: Responsible for issuing ballot papers to electors on polling day within their designated district, rotating duties as a ballot box guard and queue controller.
• Student Electoral Officer: A Year 11 or 12 student assisting in polling place duties performed by Officers, limited hours.
• Voter Information Officer: Deployed centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program; may be assigned to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors; primarily assists with language, literacy or other requirements.
• General Assistant: Assists with polling place setup on the night before polling for a maximum of three hours, then starts at 5:30pm on polling day to assist with counting and packing up.
• Ballot Box Guard: Ensures correct ballot box papers are placed into the ballot boxes, also rotating duties as an Issuing Officer and Queue Controller.
• Queue Controller: Manages the queue into the polling place, directing electors as needed, also rotating duties as an Issuing Officer and Ballot Box Guard.

Volunteers will work on various dates and times between February and March 2025. Please note that you will be contacted directly by the WA Electoral Commission if shortlisted for this role. PERSOLKELLY will complete your onboarding if your application is successful.
