Role Overview

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to plan and deliver high-quality instruction and safe swimming lessons in a fun, safe, and effective manner.

Individuals will work independently with small groups of children and/or adults to provide learn-to-swim tuition based on AUSTSWIM Guidelines while ensuring the safety of participants.

  • Deliver swimming lessons according to set plans and standards.
  • Ensure participant safety at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare for swimming lessons.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with other instructors and participants.
  • Liaise with supervisors to ensure quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Austswim Certificate – Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Working with Children Check (if over 18).
  • Demonstrated commitment to honesty and integrity.
  • Commitment to Work Health and Safety.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Learn-to-Swim programs.
  • Austswim Certificate – Teacher of Aquatics for People with Disabilities.
  • Level 1 Australian Swimming Coaching Qualification.
  • Prior experience in aquatics industry.
