Project Estimator Opportunity

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Project Estimator to join our client's team. As a key member of the construction team, you will be responsible for developing accurate and cost-effective project estimates from the preliminary design stage through to project completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and landscape construction, with experience in tendering on large-scale projects. You will be responsible for reviewing contract documents, developing lump sum pricing, and managing multiple tenders at any one time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review contract documents including scope of works, specifications, etc. at tender stage
  • Develop lump sum pricing/bill of quantities on a range of civil and landscape projects using first-principle estimates and open market quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Risk management and safe construction techniques when developing construction methodologies and programs with the construction team
  • Manage multiple tenders at any one time
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions
  • Estimate and monitor projects through the construction phase to handover
  • Assist the Construction and Commercial Teams to identify and prepare variations and EOTs in accordance with the head contract

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary education or landscape trade certificate
  • Proven track record with more than 5 years' experience in Australia
  • Experience working on projects for and with various private and public sector clients
  • Ability to interpret drawings
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to work in isolation to meet deadlines
  • Excellent MS Excel skills with ability to construct MS Excel spreadsheets to suit relevant tenders
