Job Overview

As a steel fixer, you play a critical role in the manufacture and installation of precast concrete elements.

This position requires a skilled individual with experience in steel fixing, who can ensure structural integrity, quality, and safety standards are met across all projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, bar schedules, and precast element plans.
  • Cut, bend, shape, and secure reinforcing steel bars and mesh.
  • Assemble steel cages and reinforcement frames within moulds/formwork.
  • Work closely with casting teams to ensure reinforcement is ready prior to pours.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
  • Report any material shortages, tool issues, or non-conformances.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a steel fixer in precast or construction is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret reinforcement drawings and bar schedules.
  • Physically fit and capable of repetitive manual tasks.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills with a safety-first mindset.
Desirable Tickets/Licences
  • Construction Induction (White Card).
  • Forklift or overhead crane licence.
  • Welding certification.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing/5S.
