About the role
You will be responsible for accurately cutting, bending, positioning, and tying reinforcing steel bars and mesh in the manufacture of precast concrete elements. The role plays a key part in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of precast components in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards.

  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, bar schedules, and precast element plans.
  • Cut, bend, and shape steel reinforcement using hand tools, cutting/bending machines ,or automated equipment.
  • Set out and assemble steel cages or reinforcement frames within moulds/formwork.
  • Work closely with the casting team to ensure timely and accurate placement of reinforcement before concrete pour.
Skills and experience required
  • Previous experience as a steel fixer in a precast concrete or construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of reinforcement steel types and fixing techniques.
  • Competency in using steel cutting, bending, and tying tools.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Nice to haves
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Worklift or overhead crane license.
  • Welding certification (if applicable)
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or 5S environments.
