Job Role

The Environmental Health Officer role is a pivotal position that offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful and diverse work, supporting vibrant communities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental health, with a focus on service delivery, surveillance, and public health initiatives.

This role requires excellent analytical and investigative capabilities, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting surveys, monitoring programs, or assessments related to potential pollution from commercial or industrial premises.

The Environmental Health Officer will also assist with referral assessment for Development Applications and prepare associated documentation and statements for environmental health matters.

In addition, the role involves preparing and conducting surveys, monitoring programs, or assessments relating to environmental management, emergency response, and health promotion and education.

Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Three (3) years' experience in environmental health and inspections in a local government environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in environmental health and the legislation pertinent to the role.
  • Analytical and investigative capabilities.
Benefits
  • This is a fixed-term, full-time position working 35 hours per week for three (3) years.
  • The total remuneration package commences at $95,484.48 gross per annum, comprising of $1,639.50 per week base salary and $196.74 per week superannuation.
