Job Summary

This EHS role is critical to ensuring workplace safety and well-being. We are seeking a skilled professional to support the development of our Safety Management System.

  • The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will work closely with the EHS Manager to build and deliver EHS initiatives across Australia and New Zealand, focusing on updating and implementing policies and procedures related to:
  • Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) and relevant SRAs for employees;
  • Maintenance of registers, including EHS licenses and permits;
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Electrical Safety practical assessments;
  • Business risk reduction programs and priorities;
  • Facility EHS requirements;

The successful candidate will have formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, knowledge of A&NZ Work Health & Safety Legislation codes and standards, and previous experience working in high-risk environments. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EHS initiatives, including projects and training programs;
  • Support People Leaders and employees on health and safety programs and risk assessment;
  • Draft safety alerts and briefings;
  • Assist in preparing for compliance audits and provide support during third-party external audits;
  • Manage return-to-work process and associated documentation;
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification;
  • Proven experience in WHS and RTW roles, preferably in high-risk industries;
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and ISO 45001 WHS Management Systems;
  • Ability to analyze data and develop reports;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience using engagement tools like Viva Engage, Teams, and SharePoint;
