About Us

We are a five-star hotel with premium facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, sauna, car park and two kitchens serving Brasserie & Bar, Executive Club Lounge, In Room Dining and a growing conference and events department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining smooth hotel operations by carrying out maintenance tasks as requested.
  • Planning and carrying out preventative maintenance throughout the hotel to maintain guest comfort standards.
  • Carrying out general repairs and maintenance to the property.
  • Awareness and compliance with state and federal legislative and company policy/compliance obligations related to your department.
  • Supporting the testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting etc. on a routine basis as required by local Council and Fire Service.
  • Liaising with contractors to ensure their work meets company standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Coordinating energy and water conservation or waste minimisation efforts.
  • Maintaining adequate stock and materials in the workshop and keeping it tidy.
  • Inspecting and auditing workshop tools and equipment to ensure sufficient trade and function running.
  • Maintaining external hotel areas to company brand standards.
  • Maintaining gym equipment in safe working order according to manufacturer specifications.

**Requirements**

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2-5 years' experience as a Handyperson or similar role in a hospitality environment (additional experience in preventative maintenance, minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC beneficial).
  • Trade qualification preferred.
  • Pools Operator qualified an advantage.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, Opera or similar PMS.
  • Must be physically fit and capable for a demanding role (standing, walking, carrying).
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and public holidays.
  • Service oriented with attention to detail.
  • Multicultural awareness and ability to work with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong focus and passion for hotel operations.
  • Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with multitasking abilities.
  • Strong personal integrity.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with drive, ambition and high energy levels.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members.
