Job Overview

This role entails teaching individuals with vision loss essential orientation and mobility skills to foster independence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop customized plans for clients with vision loss
  • Teach spatial awareness, pre-cane techniques, and travel skills
  • Provide information and lessons on electronic travel aids and tactile maps
  • Liaise with rehabilitation teams, agencies, schools, and partners

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Specialized Studies, Orientation & Mobility or equivalent
  • Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in computer applications

Work Environment:
