Job Opportunity: Senior Legal Professional
">The Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solicitor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality legal services within the family violence and family law jurisdiction.
">About the Role:
">The Senior Solicitor will work closely with the Principal Solicitor to integrate the legal program into all areas of family violence support services, improving access to justice for women and children experiencing family violence. Key responsibilities include working independently on complex family law matters, mentoring junior legal staff, and participating in systemic change activities such as advocacy, policy development, and community legal education.
">Key Selection Criteria:
">The ideal candidate will possess a current Australian Practising Certificate, minimum five years' relevant experience in family law, family violence, or child protection, and demonstrated knowledge and experience of the relevant law and court procedures. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, the capacity to communicate and negotiate effectively with stakeholders and clients, and a strong understanding of the legal, social, and cultural dynamics of family violence.
