Underground Drill and Blast Engineer Opportunity

This role is focused on the completion of drilling plans aligned with a 13-week schedule, as well as preparation of charging plans and tele remote plans for underground bogging activities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in UG Mine Engineering, along with a tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining preferred) and strong knowledge of Deswik UGD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completion of drilling plans aligned with 13WK schedule
  • Preparation of charging plans
  • Tele remote plans for underground bogging activities
  • Assume responsibilities as Ventilation Officer (if required)
  • Completion of Primary and Secondary Ventilation Surveys in accordance with WA Mine regulations
  • Adhere to Project Operation Safety Plan (POSP)
  • QA/QC duties to ensure safety and productivity of drill and blast activities underground
  • Highlight key activities and critical path processes of budgets, forecasts and weekly plans
  • Track operational performance of key indicators and report to management
  • Manage and administrate contractor database systems (Plodtrack and Livemine)
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining preferred)
  • At least 2 years' experience in UG Mine Engineering
  • UG time completed (or close to)
  • Previous exposure of underground drill and blast practices, preferably within a gold mine, to be able to design and implement drill and blast plans
