Retail Assistants play a key role in fostering a culture of inclusiveness and community spirit amongst the team, which enhances the customer experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Customer Service: Providing guidance to customers, assisting with donations, and informing about specials.
- Point of Sale: Assisting with sales transactions, answering customer enquiries, and handling money securely.
- Displays and Merchandising: Ensuring items are displayed attractively and safely, maintaining thoroughfares, and keeping floors and displays clean and fresh.
The desired qualifications and skills for this role include experience in retail, sales, and customer service. On-the-job training is provided for volunteers. Background checks may be required due to handling money.
This role offers opportunities to develop skills and build experience in retail practices, valuations, sorting, and stocking, as well as teamwork. Volunteers receive on-the-job training, support, and access to professional development training.
