About us

Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to work on Queensland Rail's passenger rollingstock, undertaking scheduled maintenance, repairs, and fabrication or modification of components.

The role involves both workshop and outdoor environments, requiring physical fitness to handle equipment and various types of terrain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform boiler making, welding, and fabrication tasks on railway rollingstock, sub-assemblies, and steel or metal components.
  • Use various welding and fabrication tools and techniques for structural repairs and modifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics to fabricate or repair components and resolve issues.
Requirements:
  • Trade-qualified mechanical fitter or equivalent qualification.
  • MIG/ARC Welding experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Continuing commitment to a Zero Harm workplace.
