About the Opportunity

This role is a key part of Flight Centre Travel Group's Air Distribution team, responsible for leading and developing strategic partnerships with global GDS suppliers. The successful candidate will manage and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal commercial outcomes, working closely with the GM of Global Air Distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Partnership: Primary Supplier Relationship Partner for GDS partners - Sabre, Amadeus, and Travelport. This role is responsible for all aspects of commercial partnerships with GDS providers.
  • Supply Contract Management: Lead negotiations with key GDS suppliers to achieve favorable commercial terms, pricing on key solutions, and management of service agreements. Oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of major commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and maximizing performance of deals for the business.
  • Strategy Delivery: Implement distribution strategies that meet the needs of the business globally. Ensure contract performance meets the delivery of these strategies, including achieving budgeted metrics.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with suppliers, addressing any issues promptly and fostering a partnership-oriented culture. Deliver strong communication cadence internally and facilitate clear and effective communication across key stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive influence with distribution partners for continuous improvements to support the business, focusing on productive operations, revenue-generating solutions, and capability to react to market changes.
  • Strong Internal Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between content access, capability matrix, and commercial opportunities.
  • Cohesive Category Management: Lead and manage cross-functional distribution initiatives to deliver on maximizing contract returns, promote a culture of excellence within supply partners, and ensure contracted products provide ROI.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning within the Air Distribution category.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for the Air Distribution division, ensuring financial targets are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of contracting experience and a strong background in Air Distribution.
  • Proven track record in managing large commercial contracts and successful management of supplier partnerships.
  • In-depth understanding of Air Distribution systems and NDC industry standards.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required.
  • Be available for reasonable out-of-hours meetings aligned with global time zones.
