
Alcohol and Other Drug Recovery Specialist

Empower individuals and families to begin their journey toward healing and recovery by delivering compassionate assessments and creating tailored treatment pathways.
As an Alcohol and Other Drugs Assessment Practitioner, you will be responsible for empowering people and their loved ones through thoughtful assessment, tailored treatment pathways, and early intervention that ensures no one is left waiting without care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver flexible, evidence-based care and recovery coordination using trusted therapeutic interventions and advocacy to empower lasting change in individuals and families.
- Co-create and monitor personalised treatment plans adapting support as needs evolve and actively involving participants in every step of their recovery journey.
- Strengthen connections to community aftercare and support networks helping participants build sustainable foundations beyond treatment.
- Maintain accurate records identify risks and service gaps and contribute to a collaborative responsive service environment that continuously improves care outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a related discipline.
- Minimum Diploma level qualification in Community Services.
- Relevant experience in a social services environment.
- Completed the AOD Skillset or be willing to obtain it within the first 12 months of employment.
- Completed Forensic Fundamentals or be willing to obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.
- Completed Family Violence foundations information sharing scheme and intermediate risk assessment training or be willing to obtain it within the first 12 months. Refreshers as required or directed.
- The willingness to undergo a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
- A current and valid Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC).
