About the Role
The Senior First Peoples Advisor is a key position at Metro Trains Melbourne, responsible for providing strategic advice and support to improve the company's First Peoples engagement and opportunities for participation.
This role offers a hybrid arrangement, with three days in the office and two days working from home, based at 700 Collins Street.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and influence the development and delivery of Metro's Self-Determination Plan, including the convening of a Self-Determination Steering Committee.
- Manage and develop external engagement with First Nations communities and identify stakeholders to ensure that self-determination is embedded in the development and delivery of the plan.
- Lead the engagement for Metro's Indigenous Employee Network by identifying and implementing opportunities for enhancement.
- Lead and manage Metro's First Nations community partnerships, including seeking opportunities to bolster the partnership and Metro's exposure.
- Prepare and present information/reports to the Metro Executive team and the Department of Transport and Planning.
About You
- Previous experience in an Indigenous Affairs and community engagement and/or social procurement position.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly leading and implementing strategies through collaboration.
- Strong experience in managing community and stakeholder issues.
