About the Role

The Assistant Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Townsville facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for leading the production team, ensuring safe and efficient production processes, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production team to achieve safe and efficient production processes
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Collaborate with the HR team to build employee engagement and retention strategies
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and customer requirements
  • Participate in planning future development strategies to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Ensure operational activities comply with statutory obligations
  • Assume responsibilities of the Plant Manager in their absence

About You

  • Relevant industry experience in a senior supervisory position, preferably in the meat processing industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or a related discipline are advantageous
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communications, delegations, and supervisory skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations and maintain a strong customer service focus
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize and multi-task, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate autonomy and teamwork
