About the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission

Our mission is to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system.

We are a single independent regulator of Australian Government aged care services, offering interesting and challenging jobs across most capital cities.

Our major reforms aim to enhance aged care in Australia. You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.

Business Systems Team Overview:

The Business Systems team enables, enhances, and supports all Commission functions with best practice services, aiming to become a world-class aged care regulator.

We define, develop, enhance, and support business systems for effective and efficient regulation of aged care services across all Commission functions.

Purpose and Objectives:

  • Improve efficiency and reduce risk
  • Transform the user experience

About the Role:

The Pega System Architect is responsible for building and maintaining Pega applications, including level 3 troubleshooting, focusing on technical implementation and ensuring solutions meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Pega application development according to specifications
  • Provide level 3 technical support for Pega built applications and implement fixes
  • Modify workflows, data models, and user interfaces
  • Design and execute test cases to validate functionality
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
  • Document technical designs and implementation approaches
  • Work closely with Business Architects to understand requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address technical issues

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Agile environments
  • Case management and decision management expertise
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Testing and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Current or eligibility for Baseline Security Clearance through AGSVA – Must be an Australian Citizen

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Pega Certified System Architect (CSA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Programming, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Background in software development or technical implementation
  • Experience with multiple Pega projects or implementations
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Experience working in the government/public sector
  • Understanding of the Commission's role as an end-to-end regulator
