We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Park Manager to join our team at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas). As a key member of our team, you will play a leading role in the management of the Derwent Field Centre operations and resources.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Ranger in Charge in providing practical and expert on-ground support
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the field centre
- Assisting with the development and implementation of operational plans and procedures
- Supervising employees and volunteers, and assisting with induction and training plans
The Derwent Field Centre is responsible for managing 90 diverse reserves, including Nature Reserves, Marine Protected areas, Historic sites, and co-management of Mt Kunanyi (Mt Wellington).

Key Requirements- A Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate
- A minimum of five years experience in reserve management or equivalent experience
- A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent
- A current motor vehicle driver's licence
