About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agricultural Credit Analyst to join our team at Farm Credit Services. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for analyzing credit applications and making informed decisions to support the growth and development of agricultural businesses in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process loan and lease requests for scoring and approve or decline using our proprietary scoring model.
  • Determine and enter YBS, farm involvement, and industry codes for Salesforce loan set-up.
  • Review status codes from Decision Management Platform and financial/supporting documentation submitted to approve or decline a request based on the score.
  • Analyze financial and supporting documentation submitted for low-side or high-side overrides, and exceptions to policy.
  • Determine appropriate level of analysis and due diligence required based on credit risk, following policies and guidelines.
  • Approve or decline request within delegated authority, establishing acceptable terms and conditions.
  • Assist with monitoring of the program and reports and correct errors.
  • Assist with required reporting, updating of policy and process.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in business administration, finance, economics, agribusiness, data analysis or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in lending, credit analysis, finance, customer service.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Knowledge of agricultural businesses and operations, crop insurance and livestock industries and associated production practices.
  • Solid understanding of the lending process, policies and SOPs, and programs used.
  • Solid knowledge of loan products, services, and credit operations.
  • Strategic and innovative.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Strong ability for teamwork, collaboration, and intra-team communication.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to remain objective in balancing business needs and risk.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
