Employment and Labour Associate

Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking an experienced Associate to join our Employment and Labour practice group in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Partners Melinda Bell and Nicki Milionis to advise and represent employers in various employment and workplace relations matters.
Key Responsibilities- Employment Law Advice: Provide expert advice on WHS and employment legal compliance, including advising on industrial relations matters, right of entry, disputes, enterprise bargaining, and industrial action.
- Representation and Litigation: Represent employers in defence of WHS prosecutions, internal and external review of enforcement notices, and unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protections claims.
- Investigations and Compliance: Conduct investigations into workplace bullying, discrimination, and sexual harassment matters, and advise on management of risks to psychosocial health.
- Business Development and Marketing: Work with national and global teams on cross-border matters and project delivery, and conduct business development and marketing initiatives, including client training and external seminars.
- 2-4 years PQE working within a well-recognised and reputable employment law practice.
- Experience working across contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Experience working in or a desire to also be involved in WHS matters.
- Confidence to deal directly with clients and work collaboratively across the NRFA network.
- Excellent written, drafting, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
