Job Title: Senior Technical Officer - PC2 Lab Operations Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Officer to join our team at Griffith University. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and regulatory requirements of the PC2 laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise the use and performance of PC2 lab equipment through coordination, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance and maintain cutting-edge skills in cell biology instrumental analysis.
  • Ensure correct operation of microscopy, imaging, and analytics equipment, including data management.
  • Develop and deliver technical training, manage user authorisations, and maintain training records.
  • Manage client usage, booking schedules, cost recovery, maintenance, and biosafety compliance in PC2 labs.

About You:

  • Hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive work experience in a relevant field.
  • Experienced in coordinating, calibrating, and maintaining PC2 lab equipment.
  • Capable of providing advanced technical support for cell biology research.
  • Proficient in the operation and management of instrumentation including microscopy, imaging and analytics equipment, with a strong background in training and maintenance protocols.
  • You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.

What We Offer:

This is a 1 year fixed-term, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range: The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 8 range $, - $, per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $, - $, per annum.
