Griffith University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Officer to join our team at the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and regulatory requirements of the PC2 laboratories.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cell biology and experience in coordinating, calibrating, and maintaining PC2 lab equipment. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for cell biology research, ensuring correct operation of microscopy, imaging, and analytics equipment, and developing and delivering technical training.

About the role:

  • Optimise the use and performance of PC2 lab equipment through coordination, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance and maintain cutting-edge skills in cell biology instrumental analysis.
  • Ensure correct operation of microscopy, imaging, and analytics equipment, including data management.
  • Develop and deliver technical training, manage user authorisations, and maintain training records.
  • Manage client usage, booking schedules, cost recovery, maintenance, and biosafety compliance in PC2 labs.

About you:

  • Hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive work experience in a relevant field.
  • Experienced in coordinating, calibrating, and maintaining PC2 lab equipment.
  • Capable of providing advanced technical support for cell biology research.
  • Proficient in the operation and management of instrumentation including microscopy, imaging and analytics equipment, with a strong background in training and maintenance protocols.
  • You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.

What we can offer:

  • This is a 1 year fixed-term, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus.
  • As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Salary Range:

The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 8 range $, - $, per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $, - $, per annum.
