Fibre Technician/Splicer Role Overview

This position involves working independently and as part of a dynamic team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fibre optic infrastructure.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain fibre optic infrastructure including communication racks, joints/enclosures, and commissioning fibre optic cables.
  • Perform OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fibre optic network issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
  • Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Complete site-related duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Proven experience as a Fibre Technician/Splicer, including live network cutovers.
  • Expertise in fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fibre troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of fibre cable types, connectors, racks, and splice enclosures.
  • Ability to interpret technical plans, scopes of work, and specifications.
  • Certifications such as Cert III in Telecommunications and Open Cable Licence with Fibre Endorsements are desirable but not required.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • A valid Australian Cabler's Registration.
  • Possession of a Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card).
  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence.
  • A current and clear National Police Check.
