We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities.
This role involves helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.
Key Responsibilities:- Emotional Support and Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering strong relationships and trust.
- Mobility and Transportation Assistance: Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Health Observation and Monitoring: Observe and monitor clients' health conditions, administering medication as required and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Daily Living Activities: Assist clients with meal preparation, household tasks, and other daily living activities, promoting independence and confidence.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care and support for clients.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation, tracking progress and providing valuable insights for future care planning.
- Certification and Experience: Hold certification in disability support or a related field, with experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Independence and Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Compassion and Patience: Display a compassionate and patient demeanor, handling challenging behaviors and situations with empathy and understanding.
- Disability Rights and Advocacy: Have knowledge of disability rights and advocacy, supporting clients to assert their rights and preferences.
