Logistics Operations Manager

The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily fleet operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and allocation, maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships, and upholding high safety standards.

This role requires effective communication with drivers and customers around planning, runs, and delays. Proactive assessments are conducted to enhance efficiency, and payroll, driver performance, leave entitlements, and truck servicing are managed accordingly.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in a similar Fleet Controller or Allocator role within the Transport and Logistics industry, with sound knowledge of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation. Additionally, analytical skills are required to optimize load planning and identify opportunities to improve processes and revenue margins.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily fleet operations, including scheduling and allocation.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, customers, and drivers.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and customers around planning, runs, and delays.
  • Conduct proactive assessments to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage payroll, driver performance, leave entitlements, and truck servicing.
  • Optimize load planning through analytical skills.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and revenue margins.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar Fleet Controller or Allocator role within the Transport and Logistics industry.
  • Sound knowledge of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation.
  • Desirable: SAP, MT DATA, WMS & TMS knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
