Anatomical Pathology Registrar Position

As an Anatomical Pathology Registrar at Monash Health, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides high-quality diagnostic services to patients across Victoria. You will work closely with experienced pathologists and scientists to develop your skills in laboratory management, laboratory techniques, and specimen handling.
The successful candidate will be trained in a range of areas, including laboratory management, laboratory techniques, handling fresh and frozen specimens, surgical cut-up, microscopic examination and reporting, cytological examination and reporting, autopsy procedures, quality assurance program modules, undergraduate teaching, and tissue banking.
About Monash Anatomical PathologyMonash Health's Department of Anatomical Pathology is a leading provider of diagnostic services in Victoria. With a team of 12 EFT anatomical pathologists, 4 EFT registrars, and 26 EFT scientific staff, we process over 36,000 biopsies each year, including small endoscopic and needle core biopsies. We also handle approximately 9,000 cytology accessions per year, including exfoliative cytology, fluid-based cytology, and fine-needle aspiration cytology.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask in a complex environment
- Previous experience in anatomical pathology is desirable
- A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA)
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check Employee (WWCC)
