Opportunity for a Dedicated General Practice Nurse

  • Job Description:
  • Deliver exceptional patient care, providing high-quality nursing services, including administering injections, wound dressings, and other clinical procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, in line with medical practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with our team of general practitioners to deliver comprehensive and personalised patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of practice policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your nursing skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wound management and treatment.
  • Vaccinations for adults and children.
  • Handling emergencies and triage situations.
  • Performing procedures, including venesection and biopsies.
  • ECG and spirometry testing.
  • Ear syringing and sterilisation of instruments.
  • Health management and health assessments.
  • Preparing kits and trolleys for minor surgical procedures.
  • Conducting COVID and flu vaccination clinics.
  • Inventory and stock management.

Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Previous experience as a practice nurse in a GP practice is preferred but not essential.
  • A good working knowledge of Windows and MS Office.
  • Experience with Best Practice and previous accreditation experience will be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • High level interpersonal skills to relate well to patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Passion for your role and commitment to seeing the service grow and succeed.
  • Able to commit to required hours, including after-hours shifts.
