Our company is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our team based at our head office in Kilburn, South Australia. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of equipment including mechanical and hydraulic presses, roll forming machinery, press tools, guillotines, overhead cranes and hoists in accordance with Australian Standards and company guidelines.

Job Description

The Mechanical Fitter role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across various equipment types. This includes:

  • Maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic presses
  • Repair and maintenance of roll forming machinery
  • Assembly and repair of press tools
  • Inspection and maintenance of guillotines
  • Safe operation of overhead cranes and hoists

The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical) or similar qualification
  • Previous industry experience in a maintenance role
  • Experience in the repair, maintenance and assembly of machinery and equipment
  • Sound time management skills with an ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • Current drivers licence and forklift licence (highly desirable)
  • Yellow card for scissor and boom operation (desirable)
  • Restricted electrical licence (desirable)
  • Experience with Roll forming machinery (desirable)
