Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tradesperson to join our team at the Coupled Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) in Port Kembla. As part of the Australian Steel Products portfolio, we deliver various products and services to export and domestic customers.

The CPCM is a highly automated processing line that reduces steel thickness in preparation for downstream coating processes. Your role will involve performing maintenance on the CPCM as required, collaborating with maintenance coordinators to plan upkeep, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently.

  • Isolate equipment for shutdown works in collaboration with the mechanical team.
  • Fault-find and inspect quality and production-critical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct daily and shutdown mechanical maintenance within the CPCM.
  • Provide out-of-hours support as needed to ensure continuous operation.
What You'll Do:

You will contribute to maintaining the integrity of our heavy industrial environment by:

  • Maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure seamless production.
  • Identifying and addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Participating in training and development programs to enhance your skills.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • A mechanical fitter/machinist qualification (Certificate III, IV, or Diploma).
  • Experience working in a similar heavy industrial setting.
  • Basic computer skills and exposure to maintenance management systems.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
