Lead Project Manager - Infrastructure Development

The Director, Portfolio, Strategy and Development is responsible for the undertaking of major energy infrastructure planning studies and the preparation of business cases to ensure future transmission projects are developed, procured and delivered efficiently and effectively.

This role will lead the management of design and the resolution of technical engineering issues and drive capacity and capability among project development professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategic approach to developing and delivering a portfolio of transmission infrastructure projects.
  • Oversees the preparation of detailed investment cases, including the process for approval with the investment committee and board.
  • Led key initiatives to enable implementation of the portfolio of works associated with industry, supply chain, program packaging and community initiatives.
  • Utilized specialist capabilities across a range of technical disciplines such as engineering, land, planning, environment, project estimating and scheduling, legal and commercial.
  • Provided authoritative advice regarding program to senior executives, government and private sector stakeholders to ensure an integrated and coordinated program of works.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the preparation of investment cases, planning, design and development for major infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams of technical subject matters experts, consistently building and delivering high performance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the development and delivery methodologies appropriate for major infrastructure projects.
