Associate Attorney Job Overview

The Associate Attorney provides legal counsel and representation to a wide range of institutions on various legal matters affecting the organization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to leadership, administrators, faculty, and staff members.
  • Analyze contracts and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Manage risk and compliance efforts.
  • Represent the organization in court cases and litigate as necessary.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on relevant legal topics.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the relevant state bar.
  • Valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in the relevant area of expertise.
  • Prior experience in a university, government, or non-profit setting is preferred.
