
Game Development Specialist

We're seeking a skilled Physics or Animation Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As part of the Gameplay Team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining physics or animation pipeline and engine systems.
- Develop, design, modify, optimize and debug physics or animation pipeline and engine systems
- Collaborate with engineering, design, art and productions teams to drive feature development and innovation
- Participate in the design, performance and code review process to ensure high-quality solutions
- Contribute to the design and roadmap of industry-leading AAA engines
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience working with physics simulation and/or other game-related technologies. They will be able to drive our collision data pipeline to create scalable environments and assets.
- Architect and support simulation and query behaviors to maintain our position at the cutting edge of FPS physics related gameplay and visuals
- Work with animators and other engineers to design, prototype, and implement new features to improve character fidelity and believability
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Maths related field
- Strong maths skills and knowledge of CPU and memory architectures
- Familiarity using modern CPU performance analysis tools and strong background in C/C++
- Solid debugging skills including ability to debug at an assembly-level when necessary
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with other programmers, artists and designers
- Passion for code and data optimization and experience with parallel programming and multi-threaded code
