The Department of Home Affairs is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the role of Marine Tactical Officer in our Maritime Border Command & OSB team. As a Marine Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing maritime laws and regulations, working collaboratively with other agencies and Commands within the Australian Border Force.

About the Role

">

This seagoing position requires living space to be shared with crewmates, and limited internet access may be available during deployments. Officers are subject to employment conditions as specified in the Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 (EA). The ABF Career Management Posting Principles and Uniform and Appearance Standards Procedural Instruction also apply to this role.

Educational Requirements

">

Candidates must have completed Year 12 education or equivalent. A Certificate of Competency (CoC) Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal (NC) issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is highly desirable.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

">

Candidates must be able to work for periods up to 36 days on a Fly In Fly Out roster without opportunity to return to port or home. They must also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, be physically fit, and able to cope with sea sickness and arduous environmental conditions.
