Job Opportunity:

The primary objective of this part-time administration role is to facilitate the efficient registration of patients presenting at the Emergency Department of a hospital.

Welcome and greet patients and visitors as soon as they arrive at the reception desk, directing them to the appropriate area or person, or personally attending to their needs.

This is a 24/7 service, requiring the ability to work on a rotating roster.

  • Maintain a tidy and presentable reception desk at all times.
  • Register patients in a timely manner.
  • Support patient liaison and admission teams where required, assisting with the admission of patients from emergency into the hospital.

A Certificate III in Health Administration or two years' experience in health administration roles would be preferred.

Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster is essential.

Understanding of medical terminology would be beneficial.

Intermediate skills in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office and databases, are required.

Demonstrated experience with inpatient management systems, such as WebPAS, is necessary.

Well-developed interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Able to multitask and work to deadlines.

Trusted to maintain confidentiality.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Exceptional customer service skills, responding to patients and stakeholders in a timely, efficient, friendly, and courteous manner.

Fluency in English with well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Good standard of computer literacy.
