The role of Site Supervisor is multifaceted, requiring the coordination and control of all physical aspects of day-to-day operations on construction projects. This involves ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Completion of construction activities on schedule, focusing on incident-free operations and maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Ensuring project completion within the planned timeframe and adhering to quality standards.
  • Coordinating onsite activities in alignment with priorities set by the Site or Project Manager.
  • Maintaining adequate manpower and resources to meet project productivity goals.
  • Providing leadership to labor teams, ensuring their daily tasks are allocated safely and effectively.
  • Taking responsibility for implementing works according to contract design documents and shop drawings.
  • Maintaining effective communication with project stakeholders.
  • Keeping high-quality records, including site diaries and inspection and test plans (ITPs), as per organizational requirements.
  • Familiarity with contract documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and project plans.
  • Accurate records of project deliveries, ensuring goods and materials received are properly documented and reported.
Occupational Health & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Implement and adhere to the project's safety plan, ensuring all work is carried out safely.
  • Promote safety awareness consistently and identify areas for additional training.
  • Ensure equipment and machinery on-site are safe and well-maintained.
  • Cultivate correct and safe practices at all times.
  • Assist in developing and implementing project-specific safety procedures.
  • Review safety audits and inspection reports, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Participate in accident investigations and contribute to safety meetings and programs.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with the project's safety plan and procedures.
  • Support rehabilitation initiatives as needed.
Environmental Management
  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and legislation.
  • Assess and adhere to site-specific environmental management objectives and targets.
  • Provide adequate storage facilities for hazardous chemicals and substances.
  • Implement erosion and sediment control measures on site.
  • Review and act on environmental reports, conducting regular environmental inspections.
  • Investigate environmental hazard reports, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Oversee the resolution of environmental issues as they arise.
Quality Management
  • Ensure adherence to the provisions of the Project Quality Plan.
  • Manage and facilitate quality inspections throughout the project.
  • Initiate, review, approve, and manage Project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Maintain product and workmanship quality throughout the project.
  • Address and resolve quality assurance issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Perform verification tasks outlined in the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Identify and reject defective work, materials, or workmanship, documenting and resolving corrective actions.
