Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Perth, AU.

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will oversee maintenance and mechanical modifications to equipment tailored to meet customer specification.

  • Undertake planned and ad-hoc inspections on the condition of equipment as required.
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment in workshop/yard and WA mine sites.
  • Predictive and reactive service, maintenance and repair of equipment as required.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Complete general maintenance, repairs and component change-outs on a variety of surface mining equipment.
  • Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts of the power generation equipment by troubleshooting and provide professional advice as required.
  • Mechanically modifying equipment to meet customer specifications.
  • Assembly of equipment, including pumps and power generation equipment.
  • Reassembling diesel engines and parts after being repaired.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Trade Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Equipment Mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
  • A minimum of 3 years experience on mine sites, performing service in mobile equipment and driving to field service.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience of Servicing and Diagnostics experience gained in heavy vehicle, mining, heavy construction, materials handling or similar heavy industry.
  • Nationally Accredited Confined Space Ticket (within 2 years).
  • Current WA HR Class Drivers Licence.
