Credit Process Specialist Job Description

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Credit Process & Implementation Specialist to lead our Credit Implementation team and drive continuous improvement across our credit operations.

This role is central to enhancing process efficiency, strengthening controls, and ensuring visibility of team performance. As a key member of the team, you will play a significant role in documenting and refining credit processes, analysing incidents to identify root causes, and implementing solutions that support operational excellence.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in risk assessment and control enhancement. You will be responsible for leading and supporting the Credit Implementation team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, and maintaining and enhancing documentation of credit processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the Credit Implementation team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Maintain and enhance documentation of credit processes and procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide clear reporting and visibility of team outputs to the line manager.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigate incidents and issues, implement corrective actions, and monitor outcomes.
  • Evaluate and enhance internal controls to mitigate operational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits and provide relevant documentation and insights.
  • Act as a key liaison for internal and external stakeholders on credit implementation matters.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary, TAFE, or industry qualifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in credit operations or a similar role.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of credit processes, controls, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and manage change.
  • Experience in risk assessment and control enhancement.
