Transport Operations Manager Job Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team in a permanent role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations of the HASTUS scheduling system, ensuring the accuracy of accessibility and real-time information, and contributing to strategic system enhancements.

Collaborate with planning and service delivery teams to improve network efficiency and contribute to business improvements.

This role requires experience with transport systems, data integrity, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of stop/station accessibility data, ensuring it remains current and accurate across relevant systems and platforms.
  • Assist in maintaining data interfaces and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while safeguarding the quality and integrity of data used in ticketing, real-time systems, reporting, and open data.
  • Contribute to network scheduling improvements by identifying opportunities, analysing operator cost models, and recommending solutions that enhance business efficiency and operational savings.
  • Provide support for HASTUS system operations, including input into strategy and business processes, and assist with the development, customisation, and implementation of modules such as Geo, Vehicle, Crew, HASTOP, and NetPlan.
  • Support open data initiatives and operational analysis, contributing to the delivery of transport-related open data strategies, reviewing datasets for continuous improvement, and interpreting relevant legislation and guidelines to inform scheduling practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience using HASTUS or similar transport scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of working with open data and managing/publishing content.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook as well as analytic tools used to view, check, and validate various data formats.
  • Knowledge or experience in programming languages such as Python.
