Montgomery Advisory, a leading advisory firm in Australia, is seeking an experienced environmental lawyer to join its growing team. With a focus on major energy, resource, and infrastructure projects, we need a skilled professional who can provide expert advice on environmental aspects.
Salary
We are offering a highly competitive salary of $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
About the Role
As an environment and planning lawyer at Montgomery Advisory, you will work closely with our clients, including NSW Government entities, large Energy & Resource companies, Transport organisations, and blue-chip corporates. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the complex environmental aspects of some of NSW and Australia's largest infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on environmental assessment and approval strategies, environmental compliance, and other related matters;
- Assist in due diligence and management of environmental investigations and defending environmental prosecutions;
- Develop and implement effective solutions for clients facing environmental challenges;
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality results for our clients.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Between 4-6 years post-admission experience as an environment and planning lawyer gained within another top/mid-tier national or international law firm;
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and people skills;
- Experience in class 3, 4, or 5 claims in the NSW Land and Environment Court;
- A positive and energetic approach, commitment to providing excellent service, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
