Procurement Strategy Lead

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Strategy Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, with experience in developing and implementing effective procurement strategies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement function, including sourcing, negotiating supplier agreements, managing ESG requirements, and ensuring supply continuity across production facilities and retail sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
  • Lead supplier negotiations and manage all supplier contracts
  • Review and enhance procurement policies and procedures
  • Manage ESG and modern slavery reporting requirements
  • Coordinate all import activities including freight, cost calculations, and invoice management
  • Maintain optimal stock levels aligned to production forecasts
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements
  • Support NPD sourcing requirements and item setup in ERP

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement, ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Proven success managing international supply chains and freight forwarders
  • Adept at supplier negotiations, sourcing, and contract management
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems ideally SAP, purchasing processes, and Excel
  • Commercially savvy with strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Degree qualified in Business, Procurement, or related discipline
