This role involves caring for young plants in our custom container system. Tasks may vary daily, including monitoring plant needs, managing controlled environments, assistance with fertilisation, pest and disease management, weed management, grading tissue cultured plantlets, seed collection, germination, weeding, potting, pruning, tree work, and accurate record keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

">

Tissue Culture:

">

Care and preparation of mother stock for tissue culture initiation, transitioning plantlets from Tissue Culture to nursery, potting of plantlets, management of plant microclimates, water and humidity management, pest and disease monitoring, hygiene of growing houses, weeding, sweeping, tree maintenance, waste removal, grading and consolidation of Tissue Cultured plants, movement of plants through various controlled environments, accurate record keeping for stock control and accreditations, forklift driving, and despatch.

Propagation:

Preparation of consumables for propagation, collection, germination, and planting of seeds, collecting and preparing cutting material, grading and consolidation of cuttings, accurate record keeping for stock control and accreditations, mother tree maintenance, nursery hygiene, front end loader operation, potting, pruning, weeding, propagation, cleaning/seed preparation, tree work, preparation of plants for sale, labelling, stock control, cleaning, and stock movement.

General Nursery (as required):

Potting, pruning, weeding, propagation, cleaning/seed preparation, tree work, preparation of plants for sale, labelling, stock control, cleaning, and stock movement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">

Relevant work experience in an agricultural/horticulture environment, minimum 2 years experience working with Tissue Cultured plants, especially hardening process for tree crops, minimum 2 years experience in Propagation techniques, understanding of plant quality and health, front end loader and forklift driving experience, willingness to adapt and learn new methods, ability to listen to instruction, lead and effectively work with a team, organisational skills, accurate written record keeping ability, track record of reliable attendance, willingness to work varied hours, excellent work ethic, adaptable and flexible, physically fit, hard working.

We require manual Queensland drivers license and forklift ticket - High Risk Work License.
