Shangri-La Cairns is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team. As a key member of our hotel's leadership, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results and support the hotel's goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent, and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees.
  • Learning and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and support the hotel's commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, and ensure that all employee relations issues are addressed in a timely and fair manner.
  • Payroll: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Colleague Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention, and promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Industrial Relations: Manage industrial relations matters, including collective bargaining and dispute resolution, to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Develop and implement competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to ensure that employees are meeting their performance goals and objectives.
  • Corporate Office Reporting: Provide regular reporting to the corporate office on HR-related matters, including employee engagement, turnover, and other key metrics.
  • Workers Compensation: Manage workers compensation claims and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of employee and industrial relations.
  • Previous experience in a senior human resources management role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and related software applications.
