Senior Financial Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to lead our financial reporting and compliance initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to drive excellence in financial management and contribute to the success of our organisation.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in statutory and management reporting, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards. They will also have experience in coordinating external audits, managing audit deliverables, and addressing audit queries effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial reports, overseeing group consolidation activities, conducting compliance research, and participating in the audit process. They will also manage grant accounting, perform month-end and year-end closing activities, and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting (or similar) with professional membership as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant.
  • Proven expertise in statutory and management reporting, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and industry regulations.
  • Knowledge of complex accounting standards including revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating external audits, managing audit deliverables, and addressing audit queries effectively.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools and the ability to contribute to process improvements and system optimisations.
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes with strong analytical skills to assess variances and financial trends.
